Input Output Global (IOG) has released its most recent weekly progress report, showcasing Cardano’s remarkable achievements and the strides made by various teams within the network.
The latest **update** reveals that Cardano has experienced substantial growth in several key areas, including the total number of transactions, the count of native tokens, and the implementation of token policies.
**Cardano’s Network Activity Sees Notable Increase**
As of now, Cardano has achieved a total transaction count of **93.3 million**, a slight uptick of **0.43%** compared to last week’s figure of **92.9 million**. In addition, the past week has seen an addition of **40,000 native tokens** to the Cardano ecosystem, bringing the total to **10.17 million**.
Moreover, there has been a rise in Cardano’s token policies, climbing from **136,594 to 141,712** within a week, which translates to a **3.74%** increase over seven days. The report also notes the introduction of one new project to the network, increasing the total to **1,365 projects** actively developing on Cardano.
This week, the network welcomed **2,970 new Plutus scripts**, raising the overall count to **64,248** at the time of reporting.
While last week’s report omitted details on Cardano’s total value locked (TVL), the current statistics indicate that approximately **$547.7 million** worth of assets are secured on the network.
**Insights into Development Progress**
Beyond the network’s vigorous activity, the IOG team has shed light on their development endeavors for the week.
The core technology team has unveiled version **8.12.2** of the Cardano node, aimed at enhancing bootstrap peer networking. Concurrently, the Ledger team has been diligently working on constraint generator testing, refining Alonzo UTXO specifications, and advancing conformance test procedures. They have also bolstered the safety and resilience of the Conway era this week.
Additionally, the Lace team has introduced a new update for its wallet, providing users with a superior cryptocurrency storage solution. In terms of scaling, the Mithril team has made notable headway in authenticating Cardano transactions on its network, which includes bug identification and resolution, as well as support for Cardano node version **8.12**.
In the realm of governance, IOG announced the debut of Town Hall **169** this week, featuring the latest developments in governance and resolving all concerns related to the voting application.
Finally, the Education team is in the midst of preparations for the forthcoming Cardano development course, set to take place next month in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They are also crafting educational materials for “Mastering Cardano” and “Voltaire.”
