Bitcoin price will soar above $150,000 in 2025, according to Fundstrat Global Advisors co-founder and head of research, Tom Lee.
Speaking on CNBC‘s Squawk Box on Monday, March 3, Lee noted that he expects Bitcoin to “do better than $150,000 this year,” citing widening acceptance.
“It’s becoming more widely held. You know, Citadel starts trading it, it starts to have more broad acceptance,” the analyst explained.
The analyst’s recent statements came as he was asked about the asset’s February 2025 woes. For context, the month saw the asset drop nearly 24% from an opening price of around $102,000 to year-to-date (YTD) lows near $78,000.
According to the analyst, the February 2025 downturn was part of a routine cyclical drop in Bitcoin’s price. He further revealed that Fundstrat had been open to the possibility of a drop to $62,000 in the month.
Lee, meanwhile, warned against trying to time the asset’s moves noting “Bitcoin makes all of its gains in 10 days.”
While the Fundstrat analyst did not offer a 2025 Bitcoin price target on Monday, he has previously asserted that the asset could hit $200,000 or $250,000 this year.
Lee is not alone in this prediction; Bitwise and Standard Chartered also maintain the same $200,000 target for 2025.
The long-term confidence in the asset’s prospects is bolstered by President Donald Trump’s support. Over the weekend, he sent the market soaring by reiterating plans to launch a U.S. strategic crypto reserve.
He is also supposed to hold the first-ever White House crypto summit on Friday, March 7.
