Revolut, the leading fintech company in the U.K., has unveiled a cutting-edge cryptocurrency trading platform called Revolut X. This new service is specifically designed for professional crypto traders and aims to compete with top exchanges by offering seamless trading experiences and competitive fees. The announcement was made through an official press statement on May 7.
Revolut X stands out with its zero maker fee and a nominal 0.09% taker fee, which apply to trades of any size. The company highlights that existing Revolut users can enjoy the integrated trading experience within the Revolut ecosystem without any fees, restrictions, or limitations.
To access the new exchange, traders on Revolut X must have a Revolut retail account. They will benefit from real-time trading and advanced analytics, including TradingView charts that provide a comprehensive range of market tracking tools and technical indicators.
One noteworthy feature of Revolut X is its support for XRP, allowing seasoned crypto traders to buy and sell over 100 cryptocurrencies, including XRP, through a desktop interface. It’s important to note that this stand-alone exchange platform is optimized for larger screens like laptops and is not compatible with smaller devices such as mobile phones.
Revolut assures users that most of their assets are stored securely in cold storage. The inclusion of XRP among the supported cryptocurrencies in the initial launch has received positive feedback from the XRP community. Some experts believe that Revolut X’s zero maker fees and low taker fee could position it as a strong competitor to Uphold, a U.S.-based crypto platform known for its support of XRP. Other digital assets supported on Revolut X include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Shiba Inu (SHIB), and Dogecoin (DOGE).
Revolut, which started as a money transfer service in the U.K. in 2015, has grown to become one of the leading fintech enterprises in the country, with a global user base of over 40 million. The company entered the crypto space in 2017, allowing users to buy, hold, and exchange digital currencies. Revolut added XRP to its list of tradeable assets in May 2018, alongside Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
Revolut sees Revolut X as a significant step toward establishing itself as the go-to financial application for both new and experienced cryptocurrency users.
