Ripple has confirmed its readiness to host the highly anticipated annual conference, Ripple Swell, in Miami, Florida. In a tweet, Ripple shared a video showcasing its preparations for the conference, stating that “Ripple Swell 2024 in Miami is now loading.” The video revealed that Ripple had completed all the necessary arrangements, including decorating the venue with blue and white lighting, setting up a stage with the inscription “rippleswell,” and arranging chairs and tables.
With the venue fully prepared, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has welcomed guests to the conference. Ripple Swell is an annual event that brings together influential figures from both the crypto and traditional finance industries, as well as financial regulators. These experts gather to discuss the latest industry trends and developments, as well as propose solutions to the challenges facing the crypto sector.
Ripple Swell 2024 is the eighth edition of the conference and is scheduled to take place over two days, from October 15 to 16, 2024, in Miami, Florida. Although the event officially commences today, October 15, a welcome reception was held yesterday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM (ET).
Today’s session, which is set to begin at 7:30 AM (ET) and conclude at 9:00 PM (ET), will feature a regulatory fireside chat with Ripple’s Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty and NYDFS’ Superintendent Adrienne Harris as a key agenda item.
The conference boasts an impressive lineup of speakers, including Brad Garlinghouse, former FDIC Chair Sheila Bair, Tim McCourt of CME Group, Coinbase CSO Philip Martin, and Global Head of Blockchain and Digital Assets Francisco Maroto. These experts will cover various topics, such as stablecoins, tokenization, and crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
One of the highlights for XRP holders during the Ripple Swell conference is the anticipation of exciting updates on new partnerships and projects. This year, the community is particularly interested in potential collaborations that could drive the adoption of XRP, as well as the launch date for Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin, among other announcements.
The RLUSD stablecoin project has been in private beta on Ethereum and XRP Ledger (XRPL) since August 9. Despite Ripple minting millions of RLUSD tokens, an official date for the stablecoin’s mainnet launch has yet to be announced. Whether Ripple will reveal the launch date during the Ripple Swell conference remains uncertain.
