Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has dismissed the idea of apologizing to the XRP community, citing an unjust attack from its members as the reason for his stance. The dispute between Hoskinson and the XRP community shows no signs of resolution following recent developments related to the ETH Gate controversy. This controversy has sparked debates within the XRP community, with two main theories emerging. One theory suggests that Ethereum officials colluded with the SEC to benefit Ethereum, while the other alleges that Ethereum officials instigated the legal battle against Ripple and XRP. Hoskinson has rejected the second theory and emphasized the lack of evidence supporting the claim that Ethereum officials bribed the SEC. In response to a suggestion that he apologize to the XRP community and Ripple executives, Hoskinson expressed his belief that an apology is unnecessary, as he feels he has been unfairly targeted. He pointed out that XRP community members have misrepresented his statements, harassed him online for years, and even called for his arrest without concrete evidence of corruption. Hoskinson previously attempted to make peace with the XRP community, but his efforts were unsuccessful due to a lack of agreement on the issues at hand. While he acknowledged that someone from Ethereum may have influenced the SEC’s decision regarding Ethereum’s security status, there is no proof that the same person or another Ethereum staff member paid the regulator to specifically target Ripple and XRP.
