Shiba Inu’s marketing lead, Lucie, has taken to X to generate anticipation for the upcoming release of Shiba Eternity, the cryptocurrency’s play-to-earn collectible card game (CCG).
In a post on X, Lucie excitedly announced, “Shiba Eternity Play-to-Earn game is coming to #Shibarium.”
Lucie, a prominent marketing specialist for Shiba Inu, divulged some intriguing details about the Shibarium version of the game. She revealed that players can earn the forthcoming reward token, TREAT, simply by playing the game.
Despite Shiba Inu’s success in raising $12 million by selling TREAT to VCs, Lucie emphasized that the token has not yet been launched.
She explained that in order to earn rewards within Shiba Eternity, players must own Shiba Inu’s NFT Shiboshi. Lucie had previously confirmed that Shiboshi would be a prerequisite for participating in certain activities that generate rewards in the game. This would ultimately increase user engagement and contribute to the wider Shiba Inu ecosystem.
Additionally, Lucie highlighted the importance of SHEboshis (SHEB) in the game, noting that the DN404 token would be crucial for future breeding. She explained that the breeding process would involve creating new virtual puppies using the DN404 standard.
Apart from breeding, Lucie mentioned that SHEB would also have other roles within Shiba Eternity.
Lucie also revealed how Shiba Eternity would contribute to the ongoing SHIB burn campaign. As Shiba Eternity is set to launch on Shibarium soon, Lucie explained that every transaction within the game would require Bone ShibaSwap (BONE), the network’s official gas fee token. Consequently, a portion of the transaction fees generated from Shiba Eternity would be used to buy and burn SHIB.
In terms of development, Shiba Inu initially introduced the non-blockchain version of the game in October 2022. The initial version, developed by top entertainment company PlaySide Studio, allowed players to engage in strategic card battles.
Following the success of the game, the development team is now working on a play-to-earn version that will be deployed on Shibarium. The team has identified and resolved critical bugs in Shiba Eternity in preparation for beta testing, which is scheduled to begin in Q2 2024.
Once beta testing is complete, the team will release the play-to-earn version of Shiba Eternity on the Shibarium mainnet. As of now, there is no official launch date, but Lucie shared an unconfirmed report in December 2023, suggesting that the game could be launched this year.
