Shibarmy Scam Alerts, a community-driven channel dedicated to warning about scams, is advising members of the Shiba Inu community to be cautious of fake SHIB airdrops.
In their most recent alerts, the channel made it clear that there are no official SHIB airdrops currently available. They also warned against connecting wallets to suspicious websites in order to claim the SHIB airdrop.
It is important to note that any claims of SHIB airdrops should be considered fraudulent and not trusted.
The channel provided a screenshot of a deceptive post promoting a SHIB airdrop under the false name of “Roberto Colon.”
This post outlined steps for community members to participate in the fake airdrop, including connecting their wallets to a potentially dangerous website.
By connecting wallets to these sites, scammers could gain access to funds stored in the wallets, resulting in financial loss.
The scammers behind the deceptive post have been attempting to legitimize it by retweeting other Shiba Inu-related news to deceive unsuspecting investors.
Further investigation revealed that the account responsible for the post was created in October 2010 and has accumulated 1,437 followers.
Despite the fact that over 1,900 users have viewed the fake SHIB airdrop post, it has only received two likes in the past three days, indicating that community members are aware of the scam.
Airdrops are a common promotional tool used in the cryptocurrency industry to reward loyal supporters with free tokens. However, scammers have exploited this method to trick investors into compromising their wallets or revealing sensitive information.
The Shiba Inu ecosystem team has previously cautioned against engaging with fraudulent SHIB airdrops, as well as fake airdrops for other tokens like BONE, KNINE, and LEASH.
It is important for users to conduct thorough research before making any investment decisions and to be wary of potential scams.
