Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of the Shiba Inu project, envisions the recently transitioned ShibaSwap decentralized exchange (DEX) as a vibrant center for both innovators and members of the Shiba Inu community, whom he refers to as “Shibizens.” Lucie, the content marketer for Shiba Inu, recently highlighted Kusama’s reaction to the migration of ShibaSwap to Shibarium in a post on X.
As reported by The Crypto Basic yesterday, ShibaSwap, which was previously operating solely on the Ethereum platform, has now migrated to the Shibarium layer-2 blockchain. This transition has made ShibaSwap a multi-chain DEX, bringing along a range of new features and capabilities for the SHIB Army, particularly in the realm of decentralized applications (dApps). The liquidity pools have been strengthened, and the DeFi functionalities have been improved. Additionally, ShibaSwap now offers community-specific activities such as token voting competitions.
Kusama emphasized the significance of ShibaSwap’s migration to Shibarium and described it as a hub for creators and members of the Shiba Inu community. He believes that ShibaSwap provides a fertile ground for community tokens to thrive, fostering a dynamic marketplace with diverse projects, causes, and members of the SHIB Army.
The migration of ShibaSwap has also introduced new features, including the ability to bridge new assets and integrate them into the DEX’s native ecosystem. Lucie, in her post, asked community members about their readiness to bridge to Shibarium and encouraged them to share a screenshot of their wallet on the platform. Kusama promised rewards to three individuals who participated in this initiative, and as expected, numerous members of the SHIB Army eagerly shared their screenshots.
It is important to note that the migration to Shibarium is part of the broader effort to upgrade ShibaSwap to version 2.0. Kusama hinted at the upcoming release of version 1.75 during a recent interaction with community members on the Shibarium Telegram channel. Within a week of this teaser, the Shiba Inu team announced the official transition of ShibaSwap from Ethereum to Shibarium.
One of the anticipated features of ShibaSwap’s version 2.0 is its transformation into more than just a token swap platform. It will serve as a crypto portal, providing access to statistics, news, and trends, and becoming a central hub for the crypto community.
