Shibarium, the blockchain ecosystem dedicated to Shiba Inu, experienced a remarkable milestone as it welcomed over 13,000 new accounts in a single day, setting a new record. Despite the bearish trend in the crypto market, Shibarium’s adoption rates have continued to soar, demonstrating the resilience of its network participants. The Crypto Basic recently confirmed that Shibarium is experiencing a surge in key metrics, including the total number of accounts, which surpassed 100,000.
It’s important to note that the “Accounts” metric refers specifically to externally owned accounts (EOAs) on the Shibarium network, rather than all wallet addresses hosted on the network. Similar to Ethereum, Shibarium has two types of wallet addresses: smart contract wallets and EOAs. Smart contract wallets are designed to hold funds and execute code, while EOAs are standard user accounts controlled by private keys.
Shibarium has witnessed three significant periods of growth in externally owned accounts since its launch in August. The first surge occurred on August 24, 2023, with 5,560 new accounts created that day. This growth continued throughout August, resulting in a total of over 21,000 accounts. Another period of rapid growth took place in December 2023, accompanied by an increase in transaction count. On December 3, 2023, a record-breaking 4,456 new EOAs were created, pushing the total number of accounts above 50,000.
While the growth rate has remained steady since then, Shibarium experienced another massive surge this month. On April 13, the network welcomed a staggering 13,314 new accounts, marking the highest daily increase since its launch. This contributed to the total number of accounts surpassing 100,000, reaching 100,878 at the time of reporting.
In addition to the increase in accounts, the total number of wallet addresses on the network has also grown to 1.78 million. The majority of these addresses are smart contract wallets, as revealed by The Crypto Basic earlier this week, when it reported a surge of over 375,000 addresses in just four days.
Shibarium’s impressive metrics extend beyond account growth. The total number of transactions on the network has reached 415.7 million, while the total number of tokens has risen to 9,798. Furthermore, since its launch, Shibarium has verified 16,399 contracts, including 12 verified today.
