PayPal users in the United States now have the opportunity to purchase Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens internally thanks to a recent partnership with the leading crypto payment processor MoonPay.
MoonPay announced a significant collaboration with PayPal on Thursday, with the goal of facilitating seamless transitions from traditional fiat currency to popular crypto assets like Shiba Inu.
Through this partnership, PayPal users in the U.S. can now easily buy cryptocurrencies such as Shiba Inu through MoonPay, the crypto payment processor. This integration makes it easier for MoonPay customers who have a PayPal account for online transactions to acquire cryptocurrencies. When using PayPal, users have the option to finance their crypto purchases using their PayPal balance, debit cards, or direct bank transfers. Interestingly, existing PayPal users do not have to manually input any of these details during their crypto purchase transactions.
This development comes after the anticipation from the Shiba Inu Army about PayPal accepting SHIB payments. MoonPay has now opened a window for users in the United States to seamlessly purchase SHIB tokens with PayPal.
In addition to Shiba Inu, MoonPay supports over 110 other cryptocurrencies that U.S. users can also leverage through this new integration. These crypto assets include popular options like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, and Solana, all of which can be purchased using PayPal balance.
However, there are some assets that MoonPay supports but are not available for purchase through PayPal, as they are not accessible to U.S. users. These assets include PEPE, BNB, Cosmos (ATOM), AAVE, UNI, and TON, among others.
While crypto purchases via PayPal are currently only available to MoonPay users in the U.S., this solution is expected to expand to MoonPay’s partner networks before the end of the year. MoonPay also plans to offer the option for U.S. users to sell cryptocurrencies using PayPal in the near future. Additionally, the payment processor has intentions to extend this service to users in the U.K. and the EU.
It is worth noting that last year, Shibarium-based DEX Marswap integrated a feature that allows investors to buy and sell the Shiba Inu ecosystem token BONE using PayPal.
