Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu, has hinted at the upcoming release of ShibaSwap 1.75, building excitement for the highly anticipated ShibaSwap 2.0.
Kusama recently engaged with the Shibarium Tech community on Telegram, where he shared details about the new project. On April 20, he revealed that he was in discussions with a significant figure regarding matters related to SHIB. He urged community members to warmly welcome this individual with a “warm woof,” and the Shiba Inu community eagerly obliged.
During subsequent interactions, a community member named Karn asked Kusama for an update on the launch of ShibaSwap 2.0. Kusama responded by stating that ShibaSwap 2.0 is coming “Pretty Soon.” However, he also announced that ShibaSwap 1.75 would be released before the highly anticipated 2.0 version. Kusama explained that his efforts to make new friends and collaborators were part of the preparations for the updated ShibaSwap.
“[ShibaSwap 2.0] is when the fun begins. But I had to make new frens first,” Kusama remarked.
A community member named Jolt highlighted these latest remarks on the upcoming launch of ShibaSwap in the X community.
ShibaSwap is a decentralized exchange (DEX) and Web3 dApp within the Shiba Inu ecosystem. It was launched in July 2021 and allows users to trade and stake ecosystem tokens like BONE, SHIB, and LEASH. Since its inception, ShibaSwap has gained significant attention for its robust offerings. In January 2023, the blockchain security firm CertiK ranked ShibaSwap as the top DEX platform, surpassing competitors like PancakeSwap and 1inch Network.
Recognizing the potential for improvement within the DEX, the Shiba Inu team decided to develop ShibaSwap 2.0 in 2023. One of the exciting features of the new version is its transformation into a crypto portal, going beyond a simple token swap platform. The portal will serve as a hub for accessing crypto statistics, charts, news, and trends. Additionally, ShibaSwap 2.0 will introduce fresh and enhanced designs as part of its rollout. However, with Kusama’s recent announcement, it is likely that ShibaSwap 1.75 will be released before the 2.0 version.
